D'Agostini Ranch

Our Family Farm

Our Story

In Kindergarten we were all asked what we wanted to be when we grew up. Some kids said superheros, others said things like the president of the United States or fire fighters. Then there was me. I just wanted to be a farmer.
The first place I called home was a small farm in Wilton Ca. We had pigs, aviaries, sometimes cattle, a donkey and even a catfish pond. I didn’t live in Wilton for very long, only about 5 years, but that little farm made me who I am today.

Once I turned 21 I found the man of my dreams, bought our first house and started our adventures together. We got our first dog, a beautiful little Doberman puppy named Tico, who stole our hearts and we fell in love with the Doberman breed. Before we knew it we had a few goats, a garden and a bunch of chickens.
Just a couple short years later, when I turned 23, the real fun began. Right after putting our house on the market to by 10 bare of acres of land just a short distance from the original family ranch I found out I was pregnant. Little Levi would be the first 6th generation D'Agostini child in Mount Aukum CA.

It was definitely an adventure living in a trailer while pregnant when the electricity came from a small gas generator and the water was brought in with a little water trailer. At this point I had about 10 goats, chickens, 3 Dobermans, a small vegetable garden, and small plant nursery that was just supposed to be for the yard once the house was built but of course ended up being a much bigger project.
8/28/18 was the Day Levi was born. It was a busy day with a schedule c-section due to complete placenta previa but also the day we finally got power and running water to the trailer. It was definitely nice to have a dependable air conditioner in the trailer after that because the trailer would be way hotter inside than out in the dog days of summer haha.
Little Levi was with me every step of the way. He would sit in a bouncer and watch me disbud goats but he was usually on a pack on my stomach because I was on the move so much. When he was finally able to sit up it got really easy because the boy loves dirt and tractors. We definitely don’t have a shortage of dirt around here and I’m sure he ate more sand and dirt growing up than actual baby food but he kept himself entertained.

After many projects done and new one’s started, another 50 or so animals added to the farm, and roughly 2 years later Cooper was born on November 5th 2020. One of the most insane times to actually have to go to town and be at one dr appointment after another because I managed to get complete placenta previa again. It was prime Covid chaos and people had lost their minds. Anyway, Cooper was not the easy baby Levi was, no way could I just plop him down in the dirt like I did the other child. This one had to be with me 24/7. It was rough kidding out 30ish goats in the sleeting snow and rain with an overly attached kid who would cry and cry after getting wet in the water buckets but looking back on it I wouldn’t change it for anything. He ended up being my little mini me. Unlike Levi who is a tractor man like his father, Cooper is my little animal lover who wants to be there when the goats kid, loves to clean the barn and can’t wait to collect the chicken eggs.

… can’t wait for the boys to be able to stack hay. That will really be the day! :)
