Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Meet the Nigerians
Nigerian dwarf goats are the entertainers of the farm. They have big personalities in little bodies. They are smart and can be escape artists if their fencing isn’t in good condition. Fortunately when they get out they don’t go far but they might decide that your favorite rose bush is a tasty treat.
Nigerian dwarf goats originate from west Africa. They have an average lifespan of about 10-15 years but if taken care of well they can live to be 20+. They get about 21inches tall at the back and weight about 60lbs. Their small size makes them perfect for a beginner and long term homesteader. Nigerians can serve several purposes on the farm. They are great weed eaters helping to prevent fire danger, they make wonderful pets and 4H projects with their friendly personalities and they are amazing milk goats if you decide to breed them. For a little goat they make a lot of milk, roughly a half gallon a day and more depending on the lines. They have the highest butterfat content compared to the other dairy goats so it is great for cheese making and also soap making. Wether you are looking for pets, a milk goat or a show project we can help find the right animal for you.

About our Goats
The goats on the farm are registered with AGS, NDGA, and ADGA. The bucks all have DNA on file as well. Here at D’Agostini Ranch we do everything in our power to keep our goats happy and healthy. They get tested every year for Johnes, CL, and CAE. All three of these diseases are fatal, can live in the ground for almost a year and have no cure so we take important steps to not introduce them into the farm.
